Project ideas that fit local markets
Four finishable builds — market list, fees tracker, group roster, shop catalog — with acceptance criteria.
Pick one. Finish it. Do not start a platform.
Each idea already happens with a notebook or a WhatsApp group. Your page should be faster than the notebook, not more famous than the group.
1. Market price list
For a stall or a small shop. When someone asks “how much today?” this page shows names, units, and prices.
Acceptance:
- Five or more items, each with a unit (rubber, crate, litre, trip).
- A visible “Last checked” date.
- Readable in one hand, outdoors.
- No login. Currency people around you actually use.
See the Learn to Code project.
2. Fees tracker
For a class, association, or church dues secretary. When someone asks who has paid. this page lists names and a paid / not-paid mark.
Acceptance:
- At least eight names you are allowed to use (or clear placeholders).
- A total of “paid” you can explain.
- Works if the secretary is offline after the first load.
- No payment button. You are not MoMo.
3. Church or group roster
For the person who already keeps the list. When someone needs a phone number or a role this week.
Acceptance:
- Name, role, and one contact method.
- Search or filter that works with a thumb.
- A note that the list is not a public directory if it should not be.
- No photos you do not have permission to show.
Build the filter in A list you can search.
4. Small shop catalog
For a kiosk that already writes items on cardboard. When a regular wants to see what is in.
Acceptance:
- Item, price, and “available / ask”.
- Ten items is plenty.
- One WhatsApp link, not five social icons.
- Page weight small enough to open on mobile data.
