Learning on limited data
How to keep practising when the bundle is thin or the power is uneven.
Download the lesson when the connection is good. Academy pages are mostly text. Save them, or stay on one lesson and work offline in a file.
Habits that save megabytes
- Prefer documentation sites over video when you can.
- Close extra tabs before you open a playground.
- Use system fonts in your own pages.
- Compress screenshots; you rarely need a 4K photo of a receipt.
- Turn off autoplay and “related videos” on any site that offers them.
A week that still moves
- Good signal (evening or office Wi-Fi). Open the next two lessons. Save or screenshot the exercises. Clone or download your repo if you need it.
- Thin bundle. Do not browse. Open the local
index.html. Type. Refresh. - Load-shedding. Paper list of the next three edits. Momentum is a notebook, not a streak counter.
If a tool requires a constant connection to type, it is the wrong tool for this week. VS Code, Acode, and a browser opening a file on disk all work with the radio off.
What to skip
Long “intro to coding” videos. Course platforms that load a megabyte of chrome before the paragraph. AI chats that re-download the same file you already have. Ask the model once, copy the useful bit into your notes, close the tab.
